Hi Lee,

I have tried it.

I'm going to ask for a sample. I like my Hollister 2 piece. But I want to try out other brands/styles too.

Yeah wow, this site helped so much, I mean really who do you know with this infliction? No one, felt so alone and disgusted by myself every turn.
But it ended up being so damn strengthening, I got fucking moving, really only another choice.

I was damaged by a procedure and ended waking with this, I understand all of you.. perhaps you had to have it, I get it.. doesn't matter either way.
Just wanted to share that

I tried it twice. In between trials, I went back to Hollister. Both trials gave me intense itching and skin breakdown, plus the beginning of folliculitis. I really like the design, but not with the side effects. Also, their rep Tom Printon hung up on me while I was sharing my problems and never called me back.

I tried three times and leaked each time. My Coloplast rep said they're made for people with hernias.
I, too, prefer the design to my Coloplast convex with a somewhat rigid, more visible rim.

Thanks, everyone, for sharing your experiences. I was looking at it because my current bag, now that I have a hernia, doesn't sit very comfortably on my tummy. Of all the ones I have tried, I like my Hollister 2-piece. I just wanted to see if there was anything made specifically for hernias. I contacted Hollister and asked them if they have a hernia wafer, but I haven't heard anything back. So I am guessing they do not. I was only thinking about it temporarily until I get the hernia fixed. But I think, given all of your problems with it, I will just make do with what I have.

Lee,

Have you ever tried Coloplast bags? If so, did you have any problems with your skin or having it adhere to your skin? Coloplast, for me, has been the only product I have not been allergic to. And yes, the flip is designed for hernias and rolls. It's always worth a try to see if it works for you. Always remember, everybody's skin and body are different; you're only going to know if it works for you by trying things and seeing how they work for you. Just a helpful tip: anything you want to try, try on the opposite side of your stomach where you don't have your stoma to see how the skin will react. In case you end up having an allergic reaction, it won't be around your stoma.

Good idea: Trying out new stuff on the non-stoma side of the body.

I tried one other kind of bag; I think it was Convatec, but it did not go well for me. I am nervous to stray from the bags that work for me. I was only tempted because it said it was for hernias, and that made me curious.

Do you have a hernia?

Yes, I do. I was just diagnosed with it about 2 weeks ago. I am waiting for my surgeon to get back in the office to know what she is going to say about it. She is supposed to be back tomorrow, but I don't have an appointment until Nov. 7.
