I ate lima beans the other day. They were frozen, and you microwave them. I was really a little nervous because beans don't always digest well for me. I had a small amount and chewed them very well, and guess what? No blockage. Everything went through okay. I was so amazed because I was afraid that with the skins on the beans, and they were not soft and mushy either, it would not go well. But it did. Just thought I'd share a food victory for a change.

Hubz had a regular checkup with the oncologist on Friday (his numbers are improving), and as they were asking how he's feeling since surgery, they became curious about how he's doing so well with his ostomy, both physically and mentally. He credited doing research online, trying different things, and especially the support from this group. They were asking because they see so many patients struggling to adjust.

We described this group as folks with every kind of ostomy, some for days while others for decades, but all willing to share what's worked for them with the caveat that every individual is different.

We described the most valuable element as feeling like you're not alone in this. That really piqued their interest, and they wrote down the link. It seems they had a few people in mind that might benefit from the community and thanked us for telling them about it.

You know, we can't remember exactly who we learned about this group from, but we're grateful for it every day! Thank you all! 🌻

Oh, I don't know. I am a little timid about trying new things. Having had one major blockage that landed me in the hospital, I don't try new things too often. But I might get more adventurous. Who knows? I had potato soup tonight. I think it had onion in it, so I will be seeing that in my bag tomorrow. LOL

Not a fan of lima beans? I am not so much either, but I need to work some veggies into my rotation. I don't get enough veggies.

No, ma'am. Or turnips or rutabagas. Well, if you put enough sugar and cinnamon on the rutabagas, I might choke them down. ;)

I don't even know what a rutabaga is. I don't like artichokes. There's something gross about them. The way asparagus smells, too, I don't like it. I don't think I could eat either anyway. Marvin the Stoma wouldn't like them, I don't think.

I will eat your artichokes and asparagus. You may have all my share of legumes! Parsnips look kind of like carrots, only white, smell, and taste terrible to me.

I'm not eating anything that looks like a carrot. My stoma doesn't like carrots. I am surprised it liked lima beans. You can have my artichokes and asparagus. LOL
