So I am waiting for a proctectomy and Barbie butt... I am very anxious about the recovery from this operation. Can anyone share their experiences with me? Thanks, Susie.

I don't get it; your heading says you're not going to have a reversal, then you're asking about the recovery and information.

Every morning when I enjoy my big cup of coffee I scroll through this site and this warm feeling just overwhelms me.

I never post anything (too shy and it feels like I don’t have anything of interest to share tbh) but I sure read a lot of posts from you guys and they are so informative, supportive encouraging and so so full of love and a big dose of humor.

I feel like part of the best family in the world (even though I am just sitting quietly in the corner lol).

I just wanted to share that feeling and say thanks to all of you for being so wonderful.

And also, please keep some fingers crossed for me this week. I have my blood test on Thursday, checking my CA 125 levels. Ovarian cancer reoccurrence fear unlocked again. I hate it!

Lots of love from Sweden

I was in that much pain before having Barbie butt recovery. It was easy; I was in less pain than before surgery. The only problem I had was an abscess that took a few months to heal.

Hi Susie, welcome to the site. My suggestion is to get a good soft pillow and eat protein-rich foods for healing.

Many make the same decision or go back to an ileostomy after failed reversals of several types. It's a tough decision, but I don't recall anyone regretting it. I don't, but we don't know all your history.
