Trying to find a comfy, durable backpack. Every one I've tried buckles right where my right-side colostomy stoma is. I find the backpack belt too tight and concerned that my very active ileo will blow a gasket. Any estimate backpackers out there?

Hi Godswoman, I would suggested trying each backpack on for a "good fit." It may be like selecting a pair of comfy shoes...you need to try it on. In addition, there are products out there called Stoma Shields or StomaDeomes that protect the stoma and allow activity as well. This product may be for you. Just a thought. New ostomate, we’ve all gone through feeling low and depressed over your ostomy.
This is a pretty open group. Right now, in summer, it’s a low response time—lots of family things going on. If you need something, call out. Someone dealing with your situation will post something sooner or later.
It’s just that time of year.
