Need help with crunchy bag sounds and waterproof cover!

This topic is about finding ways to reduce the noise from a two-piece ostomy pouch, which can be quite "crunchy" and noticeable when moving around. Additionally, it covers how to find a waterproof cover for use while showering. Here are some helpful tips and insights:

1. For general covers, searching online for "ostomy cover" on platforms like Google, eBay, or Amazon will show many cotton-fabric sleeves. These can help soften the noise a bit, though they might not eliminate it entirely.

2. The Stealth Belt, made from spandex or older models from neoprene, is mentioned as one of the most effective ready-made options for reducing noise. Neoprene versions are particularly good at dampening sound.

3. The StomaCloak is a reusable cover designed to control both odor and noise. You can find more information and purchase it at stomacloak.com.

4. Switching appliances might help. Convatec two-piece pouches come with a built-in fabric sheath that helps muffle the "crunchiness." In contrast, Hollister two-piece pouches are known to be louder. Switching back to a quieter Convatec pouch that fits the same flange could be beneficial.

5. If you enjoy sewing, you can create a custom cover using any soft fabric. Make sure to use a flexible (stretch) stitch around the opening so it can easily slide over the barrier without tearing.

6. For showering, there are many waterproof options and techniques available. Searching for "shower" or "showering" in forums can provide a wealth of information and suggestions.
