Ostomy from the Outside (May 2013)

This topic is about the buying, selling, and trading of Hollister and Convatec ostomy supplies, as well as the importance of support groups and proper care for product packaging. Here are some helpful insights and advice shared by the community:

1. Support groups offer a welcoming and honest environment, which can be incredibly beneficial for new ostomy users. Attending these meetings can provide valuable support and information.

2. It's important to "care for your boxes." Keeping the packaging of ostomy supplies in good condition—free from marks, stickers, tears, or odors—ensures that they remain viable for resale or donation. Poorly maintained boxes can result in a loss of value for these expensive products.

3. Attending at least one support group meeting is highly recommended to gain insights and connect with others in similar situations.

4. A community member is selling 18 new, unused boxes of Hollister 14908 Skin Barrier Floating Flange Tapes and 9 new, unused boxes of Hollister 18003 Drainable Pouches due to financial hardship. If interested, you can reach out to them at V4DENTATAS@gmail.com.
