Constant watery output, low energy, body aches, shortness of breath, no appetite - what's wrong?

This topic is about someone experiencing a sudden change in their stoma output, which has become constantly watery. Alongside this, they are feeling extremely tired, experiencing body aches, breathlessness, and have lost their appetite. They are seeking possible explanations for these symptoms.

Here are some helpful suggestions and insights:

1. It is important to see a doctor as soon as possible. These symptoms could be due to an infection, blockage, dehydration, low blood pressure, or another underlying issue. Early medical assessment is the safest approach.

2. Remember that healing after ostomy surgery can take a year or more, and temporary setbacks can happen.

3. Consider the possibility of dehydration:
- Increase oral rehydration with electrolyte solutions. A recommended product is Pedialyte AdvancedCare, particularly the cherry-punch flavor. It can be found in drugstores, online, or by the case. Make sure to use only the "AdvancedCare" version.
- Other fluid options include Gatorade diluted 50:50 with water or tonic water.
- If dehydration is severe and recurrent, a prescription tincture of opium might be necessary (under medical supervision) to slow output and prevent hospitalization.

4. Replenish lost minerals and vitamins:
- Magnesium can help with muscle weakness and cramps.
- Vitamin B and D supplements may boost overall energy during the healing process.

5. To thicken the output, consider adding more fiber if it is well-tolerated:
- Quest brand high-fiber bars, which contain 18–20 grams of fiber and are sweetened with xylitol, can be helpful. Take small bites throughout the day to avoid consuming too much fiber at once.
