I'm on Medicare. I need wafers. Who can I order wafers through that won't make me pay up front, and hopefully get reimbursed by Medicare? Thanks. I can't seem to remember who I've been ordering from, and they never follow up with me. Thanks so much!

I just finished reading the Ostomy Tips Book under COLLECTIONS at the top of the page. I did not realize how much information was there. It covers a lot

of things that people have questions about. Hope this may answer some things for people. Best wishes and stay safe

I also use Edgepark. I got a little pissed at them the last time I ordered. I have a commercial BC plan as primary and Medicare as secondary, and they required a $60 copay upfront. That has never happened before. I have never had to pay anything for my supplies with two insurances. Not sure if the policy changed or what, but I canceled my order after I paid and thought about it. They seem to have outsourced their call center, and I cannot understand anything they say when they call me or I call them. Not sure I will go back to them. They have done well up to this past year. May try Liberator Medical. Have not decided.

My insurance covers 80% and I have to pay 20%. Yesterday, I made an order which they said I have to pay $62.

Today, I checked my account; the supplies are already out for delivery. This is what I love about it!

I have Medicare and another insurance. I go through a local drug store and they order my supplies. I just sign the paper and pick them up. All I had to do was get my doctor to write a prescription for them and I don't have to pay anything. I call in what I need and they have them ready the next day. Best wishes and stay safe.

That sounds great, stick with that then.

I will be glad to get a supplemental plan to Medicare in September.

All will be covered then except the Medicare deductible.

Hi Pup, does your supplemental plan not pay your Medicare deductible?

No, it does not. That plan ended a few years ago. For those already eligible for it at that time, it continues. That was the F plan. Now all that is available is the G plan, which does not cover the Medicare deductible but covers the same once you meet the deductible. It is their way of spending a little less money.

Contact the company that sells ostomy supplies and tell them what you need. Give them your Medicare info, and then your supplies are paid for.
Ask the seller what they need in order for them to pay.
Hope this helps.

I'm fortunate that my secondary insurance picks up whatever Medicare doesn't pay with no deductible. UnitedHealth Care Railroad, plan F. I had a lot of health issues prior to my husband's retirement, so I decided to stay with the same health insurance. Even though I always order my 90-day supply, I must say I definitely don't use them all and have quite an excess supply on hand. I mark the date on the boxes when I receive them, so I use the older ones first. So far, they still hold up after a couple of years without any issues. Storage is definitely a problem. I have tried to donate supplies to organizations, but no one seems to accept them. If anyone close by the Peoria, IL area would definitely meet partway to give them away to someone.
