Why would corned beef and cabbage be a problem? If you cook them both together, they just melt and cause no problem at all.

Yay! Were you advised to eat low fiber with a colostomy? I had a colostomy for 8 months, and my surgeon said I could eat whatever I wanted…but that he prefers me on a high fiber diet. I asked my wound nurse about it, and she said blockages usually happen with ileostomies. I am NOT giving medical advice, as everyone's situation is different - just curious what your medical team advised you to do. I was always too afraid to eat certain things even though I was told I could. The few times I did eat those things I was afraid of, I was okay. I would guess if you slow-cooked the corned beef and cabbage all day like I did, it wouldn't give you a problem. I had a reversal on Jan 30 and was still afraid to eat high fiber for a month after…guess it gets to be a habit after a while! I am glad you had no issues with the food! I love cabbage, but for me, corned beef is just okay…it's my husband and daughter who love it 💚
