I am experiencing extreme itching, I believe from the adhesive from my wafer. Can you tell me how to use Flonase spray to help with itching?

Hi!

Spray the Flonase on your finger or gauze and dab the skin where it’s irritated. Be sure to not get it on your stoma. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the welcome, guys. I have to admit this website does seem very friendly and helpful.

I will definitely log into chat as soon as I can and see who is around. Looking forward to meeting some like-minded people! :)

If you are allergic to the sticky stuff, Flonase may lessen the issue but you’ll still be allergic to it.

Ditto, apply it sparingly and directly to the affected area using a fingertip, rather than spraying directly.

I experienced extreme itching after my second surgery (making my colostomy permanent - ileostomy). The plastic surgeon used the wrong thread to sew me back up. The material he used failed to dissolve. Instead, it broke into tiny pieces with the consistency of fishing wire. I had to go into the hospital for yet another surgery, this time to redo the final stitch-up correctly and pick out all of the tiny pieces that felt like they were stabbing me. Anyway, my family physician at the time had me take over-the-counter Pepcid and Xyzal. He said there were ingredients in each one that, together, stopped the itching. It worked! I would recommend, however, that you speak with your own family physician first.

I use Flonaze for allergies.

Have always had a reaction to the pouches.

Need to try this!
