Hi everyone πŸ‘‹πŸ». I had my surgery on February 28 and got home on March 4. I am still in a little pain, especially in my bladder area. I don't know if that is part of the recovery. I also now have a retracted stoma 😳. I do have a call into my surgeon's office and am waiting for a call back. I also have an appointment on Wednesday. Has anyone else had this happen to them? I'm praying it can be fixed πŸ™πŸ»

G-Day Liger,

After my PH, my stoma retracted but came good a couple of weeks later. Now it is a little smaller again but still okay.

Just take things easy and you should be right.

Regards, IGGIE

I am going to have a parastomal hernia repair and an incisional hernia repair done on May 15th. I hope my stoma doesn't retract after that. If it goes in any more than it already is, there won't be anything left of it. I hope you can get yours sorted out. Please keep us posted on your progress.

I have the hernia around

my soma, and he said, "I don't want to do that surgery; it is a long and painful recovery. Just lose some weight, and we will go from there." It's been 4 years. I just have a rap with a hole in it. It seems to help. You can get your ostomy bag supplier to order you one.

Liger,

What was the upshot of your follow-through with your surgeon/team?

Is the stoma to be refactored? Were you advised to wear a support garment?

It is finally coming back out slowly but likes to retract too. I am still waiting for an ostomy nurse for help. πŸ™„
