Just above where my base plate ends, I have horrendous pain. Can anyone tell me why putting a hot water bottle on it helps? It makes it less painful, but it still hurts. If I don't do this, I cannot stand, walk, or function when it happens. It's like a contraction, but 20 times worse. I would definitely have a baby over this pain any day. Any thoughts, please? It seems to move things along inside; it's weird. Help.

I don't have advice as I have a urostomy. But I want to tell you that I'm really sorry you are dealing with that. 🙏 I hope you are able to get help. 🙏🙏🙏

Perhaps you are getting muscle spasms or cramps? Something like that?

If that sounds right, maybe some ibuprofen would help in addition to the hot water bottle.

Maybe someone else will have a great idea.

Have you sought medical advice? If not, that's your next thing to do.

Sounds like a partial blockage. My girlfriend puts hot water bottles around my stomach when I say, "I gotta poop." 😁🥴 That partial blockage pain is horrible.

Yes, I am waiting for the camera test again. I had scans a while ago; they said it wasn't blocked, but I am unsure.

My prof said it was my IBS again. I tried Buscopan injection; it didn't do anything for the pain. It still hurts.

Kerry, does the pain get better when you dispel gas? If so, then something is trapping the gas. When I started having this several years ago, it could get excruciating. I had my gallbladder out, was told no adhesions, and that it was just my intestines feeling pain from the expansion of gas. I still get the pain, but nowhere to that level, and it's relieved as soon as I pass gas. I hope you get to the bottom of yours.

No, it doesn't hurt when I pass gas, just food, unfortunately. 😕

I had terrible pain because my skin was infected and needed antibiotics. It would be wise to consult your doctor right away, as they probably have had this happen to other patients. When I had my infection, it didn't show on the outside, and I only knew it was bad as I pressed my skin and pus leaked out between my skin and stoma. So nasty!

It sounds like food is hitting something or getting stuck. 🤔

Wonder if there is something going on with your bile ducts...possibly inflammation somewhere in your digestive tract...I have the same problem...mine is from inflamed ducts and colitis flare-ups...no blockage but occasionally pain after I eat and heat relieves it after a while for me...

Exactly what I keep telling them, but they look at me like I'm stupid. But we know our own bodies. Thank you for your support.

Yes, I have had lots of doctor's appointments and got a camera test on the 19th this month. Also, kidneys are showing something when I had blood taken, so I got more blood on the 9th. I have never looked forward to an appointment so much. Haha.
