Hello, I have small painful white spots between my skin and the middle of my stoma. My surgeon, who operated on me 8 years ago, took a biopsy whose results I will only have in a month because she is going on vacation. I am still able to do my daily irrigation. The area around my stoma bled for more than 7 days and now it looks good, but the spots in the middle of my stoma are still painful if I touch them. Have you experienced this problem? What should I do, please! PS: I don't wear a bag or a collar, I use a makeup remover pad and a tegaderm film, and I have been doing this for 8 years

I am not a doctor, but this little spot in the middle doesn't look good or normal to me. I think maybe a trip to the ER might be a good idea, just to be on the safe side. Let us know how you get on.

You should seek help elsewhere. Waiting a month is way too long. That stoma with those white places and being painful is not normal.

It's already done, madam. As I have already written in my text above, I went to see the doctor who operated on me for my stoma (the best person to understand me; she knows me well). She took a biopsy, and I will receive the results in one month because she has gone on vacation for 3 weeks. She took the time to call the stomatherapist in front of me and left her a message about my case. The stomatherapist called me the next morning, and tomorrow she will look at the photos I sent her... to be continued!! 'I wanted to know if this has happened to anyone here who has a colostomy.' Thank you!

A biopsy should not take a month.

Yeah, your surgeon should have someone overseeing their cases while they are gone for that long.

Have you tried using something different to cover your stoma? Maybe the remover pad or tape is causing a reaction now. To me, it looks like the spot is about the highest spot, and if it's getting rubbed or the remover pad has changed how they are made, it could be causing an issue.

Can't help you with that one, kiddo. Surely someone at the doctor's office can read a results report! Hopefully, it's just something silly like most of these things are.

Is that your bike?

Yes, it is my bike, an Indian Classic 2014. I'm a grandmother who needs comfort... lol.

And yes, I hope that with the biopsy they will find out why it hurts in the middle of my stomach, but I will have the results in a month only :(

No, it's a very soft cotton ball for the eyes to remove makeup. I've been using this method for 8 years, and I've never had a problem. And I make a small hole to let the gas pass; it's not tight. It's a real mystery to my doctor, the stoma therapist, and me that there is pain in the center of my stoma. I can't wait to have the biopsy results in a month.

My doctor was leaving for 3 weeks on vacation; I was his last client at 4 PM that afternoon. And in Quebec, Canada, with the daunting shortage of hospital staff, it is not surprising to wait weeks for a result. Even the stoma therapist told me that even if she saw the result before the doctor, it is up to the doctor to inform me :(

Pity they don't employ people with a brain for when they go away. God help you if he ever dies. You should get another doctor.

I am convinced that if there is a major issue with the biopsy analysis, there will be a red flag, and a colleague of my surgeon will contact me. I truly have an excellent surgeon who cares for her patients, and I know she deserves her vacation :)
