I've been using Hollister's new image, flat skin barriers for the better part of 15 years, and at least once a week, I would experience some leakage underneath the skin barrier between my skin and the barrier. This was always frustrating because it meant that the skin barrier only lasted for a few days.
A couple of weeks ago, I decided to try their convex skin barrier, and I am absolutely enthralled with the results. I wore that last skin barrier with the Cera Plus material for almost 2 weeks with no issues or leakage whatsoever, so I'd highly recommend to those of you who experience leakage between your skin and the skin barrier to get a sample of the convex skin barriers and see if it works for you too.

Very helpful

Hi! I also switched to convex and never looked back! I also switched to a high-output convex pouch. Best decision I ever made! Highly recommend! No more leaks day or night, and I am able to get a good night's rest! Good luck on your journey!

If I was a relative newbie with an ostomy, I have no doubt that this site would be very helpful to me.  The members are quick to respond to questions and issues and they are filled with experience.  When I joined, I already had a lifetime with an ostomy, so I just regard it as a place to meet and communicate with other folks similarly situated.  Either way, it is a good site.

Glad you found success! I switched several years ago, and it was the same for me. I use the soft convex Hollister, and it's made a huge difference.

So happy that you changed. It was a game changer for me as well.

It just shows how often we should give other products a go to be able to find the perfect setup for each of us.

I'm new to my urostomy this year. The ostomy nurse kept using the flat wafer on my not-so-flat stoma location. Once I convinced him to try the Hollister convex wafer, I have not had any leaks. I do use the barrier extenders on the sides and the bottom. I have way more confidence now that I will not develop a leak.
