I just want to thank everyone for being so kind and answering me and trying to help me. This web site has been a god send for me. It is so helpful to know that there are others out there that I can talk to. I feel so alone and isolated sometimes. I came home from the hospital with advice from the ostomy nurse and very few supplies. I never had nor was I offered help from a visiting nurse. I was on my own!! Trial and error. I had my surgery on the 20th of November. I am a fairly recent widow so am truly on my own. I have had some nights ( one this week) when I had two major leakages and had to get up, change the bedding and shower in the middle of the night. I feel like crying--but--what good would that do??? I do not know anyone with an ostomy, but, am going to try and find a support group in my area. Again thank you all for being so wonderful and welcoming to me. Baba

Great place for newbies to learn, I have helped many folks on here learn to irrigate, plus learned a few tricks myself. Great informative site.
