Such an embarrassing day!

I was in the nail shop in Walmart getting my nails done. The nail tech was a guy named Simon, but such a kind soul due to what took place. I'm sitting there, and all of a sudden, I felt warm. I looked down, and I was totally wet. I normally go to the bathroom before I start with my nails, but this day I didn't. I leaned over and told Simon, so embarrassed that I had messed up and that I was wet, and when I got up, it was literally draining off of me! So his wife followed me into the bathroom, and when I go anywhere, I carry a bag with my supplies, and I carry a change of clothes in the trunk of my car. When I went to the bathroom, I took my clothes off. I couldn't bathe because of the flow of people in and out of the bathroom. Well, Simon's wife went and got my change of clothes from my car. God bless her! After changing, I did ask them if they wanted me to clean what I had done, but Simon had taken that job. I was so embarrassed. (Bag busted in public) Thank God for understanding people! Angelicamarie

Ycats, it was really embarrassing, but thank God they understood, Angelica.

My husband's ostomy nurse recommended the site two years ago. The help and recommendations they have given us is invaluable.

Hey, similar things have happened to all of us! I don't know an ostomate that doesn't have at least one "horror story." Thank God you were prepared with a change of clothing. I hope you tipped the guy when you left!!!

So true, mild-mannered superhero Anglicamarie - you are not alone. A good manicure is definitely worth the trip, but to this day, I wonder why these types of things happen to us? Guess we really are the superheroes. God bless Simon and his wife. And God bless you, Anglicamarie. Rest peacefully.

Hey mild-mannered superhero, I did tip him, but he and his wife were very kind that day. I was truly embarrassed! Have a good night!

Lemonlimeviolet, you are uplifting my spirits. Yes, Simon and his wife were kind that day, which is the day I needed kindness and understanding. They were compassionate. Kindness is free! You seem to have that trait. Thank you, and God bless.

Hello Angelicamarie. Thanks for sharing your experience. the people who helped you sound a great couple. These are the sort of stories that are horrific at the time but after a while they become part of the mythology of stoma life and some of them can be looked back on as having their own built -in humour.

Best wishes

Bill
