I have had my redone ileostomy since Feb 2018. I have had pretty steady use and not a great deal of issues with it until 2 weeks ago. On Friday night going into Saturday morning, I had a nighttime leak. I haven't had one at night in a few months and was surprised and upset when I woke up a mess. I am 3 weeks into my ileostomy and have been having leaks every day for the past week. The first 2 weeks I had Coloplast supplies that were given to me at the hospital. I have been watching and reading this site for a couple of months now. I had my surgery (ileostomy for Crohn's disease) in Oct 2010 and spent about 6 weeks in the hospital.

I've had my ileostomy since April of this year. I've had a few blowouts here at home, but I don't want to venture too far from home because of the fear of it happening away from home. Have you fellow ostomates had problems in public? What do you do? I'm tired of being a "prisoner" in my own house! HELP!!

Hello all, so I finally decided to try out the Convatec Natura bags with the built-in filters. I know they are supposed to release gas, but when I tried the first one, it did not appear to be working. I did not put the little cover on it and wondered if there was something I was supposed to do to make it work. Any suggestions? Thanks

I'm only getting 24 hours or less wear time with my appliance. My flange just doesn't seem to stick to my skin. I've tried 10+ different flanges from all three companies with no success. I also have a major problem with odor, and have tried putting breath mints in my pouch and also the Coloplast deodorant liquid with no help. This is the 3rd time since Monday. It goes under the seal. Then leaks out the water. Then when I take it off, there are clumps and then it flows out. What am I doing wrong?

I've had my ileostomy for about 6 months. All of a sudden, my bags are leaking. As in 3 bag changes a day sometimes. I was able to go 4 or 5 days with no issues and no fears. Now, I'm afraid to leave home for any length of time. I use Hollister bags. Anyone else have these issues? I've tried using wafers, paste, and strips all to no avail. Any suggestions?

Hi! New to this site. My husband has a very deep stoma and we have been using an Eakin to seal wafer. This worked over the winter. It's hot and now the Eakin just melts and he leaks. Any suggestions? Note: He works outside all day.
