Has anyone started a support group in their hometown? I keep having this strong feeling/urge; I don't know what to call it, but this feeling is like I should start one in my town. However, I feel like, excuse the pun, I should get my act together before trying to start such a group. I also don't have a clue how I would, if I did, start one. How do you go about doing such a thing, and do you have to be a professional to do it? What would one need (supplies, pamphlets, etc.) to have for the members of the group?

Just looking for any advice, help, etc. Thank you!

I'd recommend contacting UOAA's ASG & Membership Coordinator at 800-826-0826.

UOAA has a ton of resources to help you get started here:

Thanks for the welcome, guys. I have to admit this website does seem very friendly and helpful.

I will definitely log into chat as soon as I can and see who is around. Looking forward to meeting some like-minded people! :)

If you can figure out a meeting space, you can decide what else you would need from there. Also, if there are groups in nearby towns, you might ask them how they got started and if they have any advice.
