I got the colostomy on 9/29/22 and had it taken down on Monday. Just got home. I know there are bumps ahead and my abdomen is just about the ugliest mess you've ever seen, but I am one very happy woman today. I have not posted much, but I have read a lot of the comments here, and they really helped me through this period. Thank you to all the kind, brave men and women going through this journey with me.

Well it's just coming upto a year since I had my emergency stoma. Since joining MAOM I have learnt all different kinds of ideas to help with the stoma. Not only that I have made a lot of good friends who I can talk to. The beauty of this site is it's not just giving tips and ideas we talk about anything and everything. Woo hoo! Congrats! Hey, I thought the same thing when I got home and looked in the mirror after my reversal, but as the swelling comes down, it's not as bad. Wishing you a speedy recovery! Take care, remember gentle healing, your body went through a lot.
