I have a complex medical case, but tonight I changed my appliance and the stoma started to spurt bright red blood. I am in a lot of pain, and am still bleeding into my colostomy bag. Has this ever happened to anyone else?

Have any of you had bleeding from the stoma?

I noticed today that the stoma surface was weeping blood. Not on the peristomal skin but the stoma itself, quite bloody really. I did not think that I touched it or anything. I have read that bleeding is normal but I figured that was regarding the skin around the stoma and not the stoma itself......

For the last couple of days, I have had a brown discharge from my rectum. It feels like I need to have a normal bowel movement, and it hurts a little. Is this normal? Has anyone else had this problem?

The last few days, I have had this horrible feeling the way that I felt pre-surgery when I had constipation. I have been taking Tramadol due to abdominal pain, and I'm wondering if this could have caused constipation. Is it possible to have constipation with an ileostomy?
