I've found a line of rucksack dry bags but they are for camping/boating and OMG are they expensive.

It means y'all are being dirty! Blue is commonly used in the USA as inappropriate. Redd Fox, Richard Pryor, Eddie Murphy are what's known as blue comics

Oh boy, look what I've started. I wasn't being dirty. I said Disney Chip 'n' Dale. (Cute play on words, no strippers or peelers. Whatever those are???)

As far as the "Pics or it didn't happen" rule? That one makes me proud. I feel like I was part of making that rule stick.

Just remember I'm nearly as innocent as EA.

I quoted Sally, seems you have a very guilty conscience...

Strippers are called peelers in Ontario anyways, it's a Canadian thing

"Nearly as innocent as EA." I'm just shocked by this. There's this thing called Church, you two might want to look into it.

As a former Sunday School teacher of 9 years, I can't apologize enough, dear sweet Alex. As the mama who toted her kids to Awana (all the way through the Timothy cup), so I could go to a women's Bible study, I should have known better. I have offended your delicate sensibilities, and I simply cannot forgive myself. I implore you, Alex, please forgive this fallen woman. I will be waiting on bated breath for your much-anticipated response.

I didn't want to start a new bathing/showering topic since a search of the site reveals it's been gone over and over.

I tried out my kiddie-sized shower cap today because dammit I wanted a shower before pouch change day. It was not a disaster but not quite what I'm looking for. The bottom of the shower cap filled up with water, had to empty it a few times. Actually said screw it towards the end and just took it off. My pouch was just damp, not soaked. I did exactly what has been said above before I read it, I dried it with a towel then hit it with a hairdryer on low for less than a minute. It's not totally dry but also not wet enough to bother me. I'll try and adjust the caps I've already purchased (I used the panda today) and see if I can get it working better and await SallyNBC's review of the shower belt thingy before I go spending any more money. All in all, it was a win. I'm clean and happy, and honestly, the PICC line is more of a pain to protect from water.

Before I got so ill, I needed the PICC line and ostomy. I was a once-a-day, sometimes twice-a-day shower guy. Needless to say, I haven't been that guy for months. Now that the fear has abated, I know I'll at least be a 4-times-a-week guy, opposed to my current 2-only-on-pouch-change-day guy.

Baby steps, but it is progress. Weight has held steady with a 1lb drop since last week, WAY better than the yo-yo with the hydrations and just fumbling along gain 20 lose 10 cycle I was in.

Now I'm just rambling. Speaking of rambling, anyone remember the car make Rambler? I like those cars. Mom had one when I was very young!

By the way, I also posted this in the topic bathing/showering forum but got zero response.

Hi Paul, you are doing fabulous my dear!

I was unaware I'm supposed to do a review of the 'shower belt thingy'. But I will get on that straight away. LOL

Loved the Ramblers...holding back putting a cute pic of one here.

PS, I didn't see a notification about your post in the topic "Bathing/Showering."

Yeah, I didn't see one either, but I'm still learning the site clearly. It's there, just didn't tell anyone or only the previous commenters that there is a new post.

Not if you like male strip clubs.

My supplies have not arrived and it's pouch change day and ostomy nurse visit. I do not want to have to use my Convatec 2-piece system that I was given in the hospital, but it just may come down to that. Having said that, at this point I don't like the Convatec 2-piece, so I ordered samples of their one-piece. The Hollister one-piece pouch has been effective and stayed on, but is difficult to drain and I don't like the pouch cover. After a couple of days, it pills up on the pouch cover like a cheap hoodie that was washed with new towels. I do like the fit and how comfortable the Coloplast Sensa Mio one-piece and the Brava line of adhesives and barrier strips and half moons. I also like the grey color and ease of empty.

I'm waiting on my Coloplast supplies currently. I will ask the stoma nurse if she has a sample of a Coloplast pouch that I can have to get me through until the shipment of supplies arrives.

If it comes to it, I'll put the Convatec on and complain the whole time!

Trying horizontal again with a good seal so I can wear my belt.

My stoma protector is on its way from Germany, and my PouchWear 3-piece set will get here after I forget I ordered it. I like that PouchWear is made by ostomates for ostomates, but I'm not at all impressed with timeliness or communication. I ordered on the same day as the product from Germany, and I'm willing to bet the German product arrives first.

Today hasn't started off well, and I'm in a mood.

Thanks for reading the rant.

Nurse did have a couple extra pouches, apparently there was an insurance snafu and Coloplast decided not to follow up and just not send my supplies or contact my nurse, grrrr.

Luckily, the nurse had 3 pouches she gave me of the one piece I like, not quite what's in my order but it works. It's on horizontal and I'm trying the belt again.

Make sure your skin is dry before applying the pouch. I use stoma wraps or convex rings. They really help the pouch stick. Also, around the pouch, I use Brava Strips and Sure Seals.
