Just found out that United HealthCare lists the stealthbelt as a "durable good" and under my plan they pay for half of it.  You do need a prescription for it but that's not really a problem.

I'll be putting in for one Monday after I call my GE's office.

Dave........that's good news.  Would also work well for folks with Health Savings Accounts that need to spend this years savings before the end of the year.  I think I'll check Blue Cross Blue Shield and see if they pay for part of it as well.  Then we can have a StealthBelt party!!

Yeah a year ago I wouldn't have known what to ask to find out I had a parastomal hernia. The only reason I knew about them is from this site. Thank goodness for this site. Otherwise I would still be clueless. If I hadn't though from stuff on here to ask my surgeon about having a hernia, then I would have never had the CT and I would have never known that she should have known about it a year ago.

Hi Tony,

That sucks.  I've got Federal BCBS, but probably not much different.  I'll check and let you know. Maybe my Primary Care Doc will have to deem it mandatory or something........you know how that crap works.

thanks,

bob

yes i know  how that works,  good luck,  i am a state worker and had a drs  note saying it was mandatory.  nfg.  ins. co. are on the same shit line as big pharm companies.  best thing u may do is write it off taxes at end of year if u can.
