Is it possible to wear blue jeans with the colostomy bag? I'm finding it difficult.

Depends if you tuck your bag into your jeans or not. I purchased a SIIL ostomy belt from Amazon, which I like:

It keeps your appliance flat and out of the way of your waistline as long as your shirt is long enough to cover it.

I was a fly on the wall for a while, before I joined the group.  I think you will find it's a good bunch of people, who understand what you are dealing with like no one else could.  Glad you found us.

I have a colostomy and wear jeans all the time. My stoma is at the same level as my belly button and about 3 1/2 inches to the left of it.

I use a Hollister 2-piece system. I don't tuck the bag in my jeans. I use an IGGIE clip to roll up the bag bottom to shorten it and reinforce the Velcro seal.

No issues wearing jeans except it's 97 degrees outside. 🥵

Wendy,

I can't wear normal jeans anymore because they're uncomfortable on the stoma. I have been able to wear small maternity jeans and jeggings.

Yes :) I wear high-waisted jeans… well, all of my pants are high-waisted. I wear a lot of dresses too.
I have a few different colors of the pants in the picture below, and they're perfect. I like to tie the bow so it hangs over my stoma area for that extra “nobody knows” factor.

Try overhauls. Walmart has them. iPad would not let me copy and paste.

I second what Kas said. All of my jeans now are jeggings (not too tight) and maternity with the full panel. Once your shirt is on, these bottoms look like regular jeans. Just keep in mind that you will probably be a smaller size in maternity pants because of the looseness of the panel. I have thinner legs compared to the rest of my body, so this works in my favor.

I have had an ileostomy for over 30 years. I am lucky my stoma was sited high up opposite where my belly button used to be, so I can wear any trousers.

Where do you order the Iggy clip?

I have no problem. I do wear stretch jeans, which are very available with a little latex.

Yeah. It was over 100 here most of last week. It is supposed to be in the 90s into October. There was a time when night would bring relief. Even if it hit the 90s, it would drop to the low 60s to mid to high 50s at night. No more. It was in the mid-70s when I got up at 6:30 this morning. I can't imagine what it is like in the lands of humidity these days.

An IGGIE clip is simply a 25mm binder clip that you can buy at any Walmart or grocery chain. I recommend using decent black ones rather than the colored ones. They are generally better quality, and the metal "handles" will stay closed better. I have a box we picked up in Taipei. They are better quality than anything I have found in the States. But, in lieu of traveling to Asia...

The humidity sucks. Omaha just got hit with category 2 hurricane-force winds on Wednesday from a storm system that came through. Huge amounts of damage and still no power in certain areas. Thankfully, I'm a great stick picker-upper, and my girlfriend had the backyard spotless by the time I got home from getting temporary fencing for the dogs since our neighbor's fence is in pieces. It sucks doing that much yard work in 95-degree weather with jungle-type humidity too.

Thank you for having my ileostomy surgery on 8/27, and I am getting great information.

I wear regular jeans, high-waisted, and as most denim has a bit of "give" in it these days, absolutely no issues with comfort.

I go to Blair clothes, buy high-rise jeans with an elastic waist.

One of the things I like about living in the shadow of the Rocky Mountains is that a lot of the bad stuff that hits you folks goes right over the top of us. But then, there is the fire danger. We have been awash in smoke lately, first from the fires in Canada and Washington, and now from local fires. It is our biggest threat, and not just this time of year. The worst fire in recent memory in this area was on December 30th and was a grass fire that destroyed over 1,000 homes. Just shows to go ya. If it's not one thing, it's another. :-(

High-waisted jeans are comfortable on me. Get the ones with a little stretch. I also wear jeggings.

My colostomy is at my waist. Pants will not work; I have gone to dresses. Overalls work great.

Cannot wear jeans with zippers. I wear high-waisted jeans with an elastic waist, jeggings, or yoga pants.
