Does anyone have a loop ileostomy? I have fistulas along with perianal Crohn’s Disease and had to have a loop ileostomy created so it can heal.

Is there anyone else going through this?

Mine is supposed to be temporary too. My surgeon doesn’t know right now if it will be reversed.

I just wanted to take the time to wish everyone a good holiday. I especially would like to thank this website and the folks that run it and keep it going. This site has been a life saver for me and I am so thankful I found it. I hope everyone has a great Christmas and Hanukka and if you don't claim either holiday, I hope you have a nice day. See you all next year!

Hi AJR77,

I don't have an ileostomy but I am currently struggling to heal a small bowel fistula and we have recently learned I also have a urine fistula too. Since surgery lead to my fistulas they are reluctant to operate again. So in addition to 2 new stomas, I came home with an accordion drain to keep the drainage out of my pelvis.

What kind of fistulas do you have? I think there are several types.

I have 3 fistulas in the perianal area caused by Crohn’s disease. I had 3 setons placed there a few months ago. I had to have my jpouch disconnected and a loop illeostomy created to rest and heal rectal area.
