Coming out of hernia surgery 3 or so years ago, my stoma went flat. Does anyone know if they can revise this to fix the stoma or is it I'm stuck with it?

Hi, I'm posting this on behalf of my son who's 12. He has a stoma and recently we've been struggling because he has a red raw very sore rash that covers the entire area of his stoma bag, to the point where some of the rash is weeping. Apart from the obvious discomfort and pain it's really starting to affect is ability to go to school or socialise in any way.

My body is fairly hairy in particular my abdomen which is obviously where my stoma is located. Obviously this can affect adhesion of the bags to the skin.

Just curious what are the worries or concerns when going out to eat at a restaurant or a party? My biggest worry now with my condition is eating something that doesn't agree with me and having an accident. So, i stick with safe foods but sometimes that misfires! My condition now is SCI with neurogenic (flaccid) bowel with possible future elected colostomy. Thanks

I'd like to know if anyone else experiences this. It would most likely be people who rinse when emptying. I'll try to explain the best way I can. If when you empty and let's say you just got done cleaning or maybe brushing your teeth and if course washed hands but then you go to empty and rinse the pouch and wipe the end. Was called for Jury Duty early May.

I have had my colostomy since August 2023. Still not comfortable leaving the house for more that 3 hours at a time. Will go longer if at a close friend's place or a relative. Basically people that understand my bathroom needs.

Output can be all over the place, (literally) anytime, all the time, sometimes.

Need help dealing with life with new ostomy. In hospital for 5 weeks or so (can't remember ) came home two days ago and having coping issues. Never thought I'd spend my "golden" years changing an ostomy bag all day

So when I post this I am really just curious .. I know it isn't normal lol but has anyone had,heard or seen a stoma flip in the opposite direction? Hanging down the way it should then completely do a 180 a flip all the way back And try and hang backwards lol

Hi. I have blood in my bag from time to time. Sometimes gross, other times little. I sent stoma pic to surgeon and he said stoma was very good. He expects periodic bleeding due to the eliquist 5mg 2x a day

Another update. So when I was there at the rheumatologist she listened to me about all of my symptoms and she saw my hands. I am wondering what bone headed thing I am doing to have this happen. Has anyone tried Wegovy or one of the others for wieght loss? I was so happy to be able to finally eat and live like a normal person that I got a little carried away. . I am having difficulty loosing the wieght and not sure if not having a colon, these types of drugs should be tried.
