I've had great luck with the last two pouches I've applied. So much so, I had serious anxiety about changing the pouch this time. Well, last night I sprung a very small manageable leak, so my decision has been made for me. I am asking this question because of the recent phenomenon of being told I am using too many bags by my GP! I suspect it's because of the costs and related to the recent cutbacks due to the austerity thing! See other posts on this site on the subject of people not getting their bags on time.

Hi - I got my ileostomy on 3/7/2022, so I'm about a month out from surgery. I was re-hospitalized with quite an infection, and now that I'm home again, I'm finally beginning to wrap my head around the day-to-day with the pouch.

My output is not extremely liquid like it was at first, but it's also not very thick. I think this may be the case with ileostomies in general. What are your experiences...

Well, it's 03:22 am again and I am up because I had to do a bag change at about 2:45 am. It is a regular thing despite all the things I have tried to make it not happen. (I am the sort of person that once I am awake and up, I find it hard to settle again.)

I have had my colostomy since January but can't seem to stop the night changes. I have tried changing eating habits, eating ear...

I can change my system by myself,  however, if my stoma is active I have a real hard time. The only time I change myself is if I'm out of town. Otherwise. My wife helps me every day we do a change. I am new to this. I've only been home from the hospital for a couple of weeks. I recently changed my appliance 2 days ago but my bag smells. I was wondering if I can just change the bag but leave the wafer. Also if I can do I clean the area around the wafer or just put a bag back on it? I use a 2 piece system.

New to the group and considering what's the best way to slow down our guts and intestines. Naturally with food and not naturally ie drugs like Imodium or codeine.

Now we are all used to a 7 day week that ends up on the same day every week but when you go to a 6 day change cycle the day to change will become blurred because it will fall on different days. Does anyone know if I will I be able to Flush The Welland Flushable bags down the aircraft toilets.

Seriously, these things changed my life.   I had my surgery in Dec of 2015 and I found empting or changing my bag to be combersome and kind of..............icky.  Emptying in a public restoom was difficult and worrisome, for me.   Flushable bag liners gave me back my "can do" confidence.  They save money on bags and make emptying is so much easier and much more sanitary.
