This is a message to all you OstoMates out there. I am Bills wife and he has asked me to let you know that he will not be on here for a while. He has had a heart attack and will be having a bypass operation at the Royal Brompton Hospital in Londaon hopefully sooner rather than later. I am sure he will be back on here as soon as he is well enough.

I went to the doctor yesterday. My stoma is getting revised. Praise God. The doctor also brought up the option of getting a Barbie butt due to my pelvic floor dysplasia. So, question for those that have a Barbie butt, how has it been with getting it done?

Hi all, I made it through my reversal January 30. The surgeon said I had minimal adhesions and the connection looks great. The pain is much less than my first surgery and I’m doing ok. There is some urgency with the bathroom but he said it will work itself out.

Tips for Preventing Ostomy Leaks
Clean skin well with soap and water and dry well - no lotion or lotion soap around stoma area!
DO NOT use skin prep! The prep prevents the barrier and ring or paste from melding with the skin. It used to be recommended, but not with today's products.

Hi everyone! Well, I am 6 weeks post-op of my ileostomy with a bunch of complications and two extra surgeries. I'm so nervous about another ileus and having an obstruction (the NG tube was terrifying) that I want to eat chewy things but I'm afraid of obstructing. Anyone think it's ok?

I've had my ileostomy since 8/21. Still lots to learn but one area that I'm struggling with is clothing! I know it's really not earth-shattering in the grand scheme of life but... I am a fashionista and I long for my normal clothes.
I can't seem to wear anything non-stretch. Do I need to alter, but a size up? Any advice??
